How to Get Pearls in 100 Days at Sea — Earn, Spend, Priority
Pearls are the account-level currency. Here is every verified way to earn them, every published cost to spend them, and the buying order the tested class list actually supports.
What Pearls are
100 Days At Sea runs three separate currencies, and they are not interchangeable. Pearls are the one you carry between runs. They buy the two things that persist: classes and companion chests. Coins are spent at the Mukumuku Market vendor; Doubloons come from treasure chests and stay inside a run. If you are saving toward a 750-Pearl class, nothing you do with Doubloons gets you there faster.
Classes can also be bought outright with Robux, which is the part most guides skip. Everything below is the free route.
Every verified way to get Pearls
Five routes turn up across the guides we checked, none of them requiring Robux. Companion chests return some value too, which is why they sit on this list as a recycle rather than a primary farm.
Pay Pearls steadily. No trusted source has published how many a quest is worth.
The other steady route. Deep-run badges exist, but most players never see them — and nobody has published the Pearl payout per badge.
Every confirmed code has paid exactly 20 Pearls. Five codes since the system launched in late June: 20Pearls, ALIENS, HERO, CORRUPT and CHAOS — 100 Pearls of code income in a month.
Named as a Pearl route across the guides we checked. The amount per day is unpublished.
Unlocks at max Bonfire level and generates Pearls. The slowest and most resource-hungry method in the game.
Return some value when you roll them. They are also a Pearl sink — see spending, below.
The one route with hard numbers is codes. Every code the trackers have recorded for this game paid 20 Pearls, not a mixed jackpot and not a 500-Pearl drop. Live strings, and the ones that have already expired, are dated on the codes page. Treat them as free top-ups you redeem in ten seconds.
Badges are the other route you can inspect, because the game's public badge list carries award counts. The survival ladder thins out fast: most accounts never reach the deep-run milestones. If your Pearl plan leans on finishing a 100-day run, that is a steep hill — the shape of it is on the Day 100 page.
What to spend them on
The class shop runs from 40 to 750. Costs below are the ones already published on this site. Chaos Master and Minigunner are ranked on a tier list but carry no published Pearl price yet, so they are not in the table.
| Sink | Cost | What you're buying |
|---|---|---|
| Sailor | 40 Pearls | Cheapest class in the shop. |
| Medic | 50 Pearls | Starts every run with a Medkit and faster health regeneration. |
| Survivor | 50 Pearls | Pro Game Guides' tier list calls it the worst class in the game. Do not spend here. |
| Crewmate | 60 Pearls | The first-buy recommendation under 100 Pearls: a Flintlock, +10% gun damage and 20 rounds. |
| Camper | 70 Pearls | Good Sack and +10% health. Still in the cheap band PGG ranks at the bottom. |
| Builderman / Chef | 150 Pearls each | Co-op support: cheaper building, or a Burger Stand that produces healing food. |
| Harpooner / Merchant / Adventurer | 200 Pearls | Utility band. Merchant starts with Doubloons; Adventurer a Giant Sack. |
| Swordsman / Olympian | 250 Pearls | The two the tier list rates in this band. |
| Knight | 380 Pearls | Cheapest A-tier class — Claymore plus armour worth 30% damage reduction. |
| Pirate / Treasure Hunter | 500 Pearls | Treasure Hunter boosts Doubloons; the tier list flags it as unable to carry a solo run. |
| Hero | 600 Pearls | Holy Sword. Every top-tier priced class sits at 600 or above. |
| Fire Mage / Ice Mage / Raider / Ancient Squid | 750 Pearls | The endgame shelf. Fire Mage (Magma Staff) is PGG's best-in-game pick. |
| Alien Overlord | 750 Pearls (reported) | A single source, new since the last sweep — treat as reported, not confirmed, until a second one agrees. |
| Magma or Pirate companion chest | 120 Pearls | The only published chest prices. One roll, not a guaranteed companion. Best pulls sit at 5%. |
Priority, only where the repo already gives it
- Under 100 Pearls, buy Crewmate (60). It is the only class in the cheap band that starts you with a weapon. Medic (50) is the alternative worth a thought — it starts with a Medkit. Do not buy Survivor at the same price.
- Skip the 150–250 band unless you're playing a role. Builderman and Chef are co-op support. If you just want your own run to go better, Swordsman or Olympian (250) are the two the tier list rates.
- Knight (380) is the first real power spike — cheapest A-tier, and the 30% damage reduction stays useful on day 80 as well as day 8.
- If you can wait, wait for 750. Fire Mage is the consensus destination. Buying two mid classes on the way there costs you a Fire Mage.
- Classes before chests. A class is guaranteed; a 120-Pearl Magma or Pirate chest is one roll at published companion rates.
What nobody has published
How many Pearls a daily quest, a badge or a day of survival actually pays. We are not going to invent a Pearls-per-hour figure to fill the gap — and there is a second reason to distrust any you find, since players in a July comment sweep described a Pearl-farming strategy being nerfed by the developers within days of it spreading. Rates in this game are a moving target.
FAQ
What are Pearls used for in 100 Days At Sea?
Mainly unlocking classes — the class shop runs on Pearls, from the 40-Pearl Sailor up to 750-Pearl classes like Fire Mage. The other published sink is companion chests; Magma and Pirate chests cost 120 Pearls. Pearls persist between runs. Doubloons and Coins do not buy classes.
How do you get Pearls in 100 Days At Sea?
Five routes turn up across the guides we checked, none of them requiring Robux: achievements and badges, daily quests, active codes, days survived in a run, and the Crafting building that unlocks at max Bonfire. Every confirmed code has paid exactly 20 Pearls. What nobody has published is how many Pearls a daily quest, a badge or a day of survival actually pays.
How many Pearls is the Fire Mage?
750 Pearls. It tops Pro Game Guides' July 2026 tier list as the best class in the game. Codes are not a shortcut: five recorded codes at 20 Pearls each is 100 Pearls of code income in a month, roughly a seventh of one Fire Mage.
Should I buy companion chests or classes first?
Classes first for most players. A class is a guaranteed permanent kit; a chest is RNG. The best companion pulls (Salamander, Penguin, Swordfish, Magma Golem) sit at 5%, and Magma and Pirate chests are 120 Pearls a roll.
Where should my first Pearls go?
Under 100 Pearls, buy Crewmate at 60. It is the only class in the cheap band that starts you with a weapon, and the only one PGG ranks above its bottom tier. Medic at 50 is the alternative if you want a Medkit. Skip Survivor at the same price. If you can wait, wait for 750 — buying two mid classes on the way there costs you a Fire Mage.
