The Ice Biome in 100 Days at Sea — Boss, Penguins & What the Numbers Say

The Ice Biome — the Ice Region, if you learned the name from other players — is the arctic zone added in the June 19 update, and it ships with two objectives the badge data tracks precisely: a boss fight and a penguin rescue. Here is what each involves and how many players actually clear them.

One place, two names

The developer's update notes call it the Ice Biome; the player base largely says Ice Region. Same place. We use the developer's name because it matches the badge descriptions, but if you arrived here searching the other one — right place. It joined the game on June 19, in the same update stretch that brought the Squid Boss and, later, the Corruption Dungeon (the update history has the full timeline).

Objective one: the King Of The Snow

The biome has its own boss, tracked by the King Of The Snow badge — defeat the boss in the Ice Biome. 154,451 players hold it (0.17% of everyone who ever set sail). That share puts the fight in reachable mid-tier territory: far rarer than surviving a ghost raid, far more common than the endgame boss badges. A verified step-by-step for the fight is not on this page yet — our rule is in-game confirmation before tactics get published, and the fight write-up is still in verification.

Objective two: rescue all the penguins

Arctic Rescue — rescue all of the penguins in the Ice Biome — sits at 165,420 players (0.18%), slightly ahead of the boss badge. The gap between the two numbers is the useful read: the rescue run is the more approachable objective, and some players clear it without ever taking the boss on. If you want one Ice Biome trophy, start with the penguins.

Thematically adjacent but mechanically separate: the Penguin companion (a 5% roll that produces a Bandage every 220 seconds). Whether the biome affects companion rolls is unverified — no claim either way.

Where it fits in a run

Like the other special locations, the Ice Biome is optional content layered onto the survival loop — the day-by-day guide covers when sailing out for objectives beats staying home fortifying, and the islands pageholds the full location-badge table, where the Ice Biome's two badges sit alongside the Volcano's and the mothership's with live counts.

Ice Biome — FAQ

  • What is the Ice Biome in 100 Days at Sea?

The game's arctic region, added in the June 19 update. The developer calls it the Ice Biome; players mostly say Ice Region — same place, two vocabularies. It has its own boss (the King Of The Snow badge tracks beating it) and its own rescue objective (Arctic Rescue, for saving all the penguins).

  • How do I beat the Ice Biome boss?

The King Of The Snow badge confirms the boss exists and how many players have beaten it, but a verified step-by-step for the fight itself is not something we can document yet — our rule is in-game confirmation before publishing tactics. What the numbers already show: it is a reachable mid-tier objective, held by a meaningful share of players rather than an endgame elite.

  • What is Arctic Rescue?

The badge for rescuing all of the penguins in the Ice Biome. Slightly more players hold it than have beaten the biome's boss — the rescue run is the more approachable of the two objectives.

  • Is the Penguin companion related to the Ice Biome?

They share a theme, not a mechanic we can confirm. The Penguin companion (a 5% roll) produces a Bandage every 220 seconds and is documented on the companions page; whether the Ice Biome affects companion rolls is unverified, so we do not claim it.

Badge counts fetched from the official Roblox badge listing on 2026-09-01; percentages are shares of the 90,280,294 players holding the first-play badge.
