Ghost Pirates in 100 Days at Sea — Raids, Variants & the Payout Everyone Misses
Ghost Pirates are the enemy your run will meet whether you go looking or not: 66.5% of every player who ever set sail holds the badge for surviving a ghost raid — 60,008,911 people. This page covers both variants, how raids actually scale, the Survivor Island waves, and what to do with the corpses.
Two variants, one squeeze
Ghost Pirates come in melee and gunnerflavours, and the combination is the whole threat. The gunners are why Survivor Island waves punish under-geared players: you are taking ranged fire while the melee ones close the distance. Handle them in that order — break the gunners' line of sight or kill them first, because the melee variant is the simpler fight once nothing is shooting at you.
Ghost raids: scaling, not luck
Raid nights are where Ghost Pirates come to you. Raids scale with your day counter, not with luck — a base that shrugged off day 10 can get wiped on day 30 with the same walls. Mid-run, defenses stop being optional: walls, and the Auto Turret if you play solo (it defends the base by itself overnight, and the Travelling Merchant sells it early for 150 Doubloons).
The badge data makes the case better than any warning: 60,008,911 players (66.5% of everyone who ever played) have survived at least one ghost raid. This is not an edge case you can build around — it is a scheduled appointment.
Survivor Islands: their garrison, your rescue mission
Survivor Islands are the Ghost Pirates' garrison. Holding out against their waves is what rescues the stranded crew — the game's rescue-mission thread — and the reward loop most players know. The payout most players miss is stranger: Ghost Pirate corpses are a crafting ingredient. Clear the waves, then collect the bodies before you sail off. Full island-by-island notes are on the islands page.
The Ghost Galleon — the boss tier
The February update added the Ghost Galleon, a ship boss on the same theme. The Third Bell Rung badge — defeat it three times in a single run — sits at 47,273 players (0.1%), which places it firmly in endgame territory: something runs do for the challenge, not a gate the story pushes you through. The update history tracks when it and every other boss arrived.
One honest gap: community references exist to a red key and a Ghost Pirate stronghold, but we have not verified either in game — they stay off this page as facts until we can.
Ghost Pirates — FAQ
What are Ghost Pirates in 100 Days at Sea?
One of the game's four regular mob types (per Pro Game Guides' tested list), appearing in two variants: melee and gunner. They attack during raid nights and garrison the Survivor Islands, where holding out against their waves is how you rescue the stranded crew.
How do I survive a ghost raid?
Defenses stop being optional mid-run: walls, and the Auto Turret for solo players. Raids scale with your day counter — not with luck — so an underbuilt base that survived day 10 can get wiped on day 30. The badge data says raids reach most runs: the majority of players who set sail hold the survive-a-ghost-raid badge.
Why are the gunner Ghost Pirates so dangerous?
Because they punish under-geared players at range: on Survivor Island waves you take gunner fire while the melee variants close the distance. That two-variant squeeze is why those waves end runs that handled everything else fine.
What do Ghost Pirate corpses do?
They are a crafting ingredient — an easy payout to miss. After clearing waves on a Survivor Island, collect the corpses instead of sailing straight off.
What is the Ghost Galleon?
A ship boss added in the February update. The Third Bell Rung badge tracks defeating it three times in a single run — a small fraction of players hold it, which tells you it is an endgame-tier fight, not a story requirement.
Badge counts fetched from the official Roblox badge listing on 2026-09-01; percentages are shares of the 90,280,294 players holding the first-play badge.
